Birth Announcement

Kylie Gabriella Barker

Our daughter was born on July 17th at 10:38 in the morning. She arrived 10 days earlier than her official due date of July 27th. My labor start to finish was only 7 hours. Kylie weighed 6 pounds 8 ounces and was 17 1/2 inches long (smallest grandchild for my parents). I went into labor Wednesday morning at 3 in the morning. I sat and waited till my contractions were each 3 1/2 minutes apart. Can I just say how painful contractions really are!?! Ladies, women aren't lying when they say that labor is incredibly painful! I would just close my eyes, slowly breath in through my nose, and out from my mouth to get through the contractions. Once we got to the hospital they had me again wait for an hour to make sure the contractions were making me dilate more, which THANKFULLY they were. Once I was checked in I got the HEAVENLY epidural!!! I LOVE EPIDURALS!!! The doctor came in and discovered that I was already dilated to a 9! Thirty minutes later I was pushing, and thirty minutes later Kylie was here. Russell and me had the tears running when we saw our baby girl for the first time. She is the most beautiful girl I have looked at! She is my daughter!!! I've had a baby! It is crazy realizing that not only do I have a baby, but that I gave birth!!! I love her and just hope that I can be a good Mom for her.
