Dedicated to my Grandpa Floyd Devey

My grandpa I can honestly say was one of my heroes. When I was a younger girl his demeanor was more quiet, faithful, impressive, and stoic. As I grew older my relationship with my grandpa blossomed into something beautiful. I started to notice that he had this special twinkle in his eye when he'd see me. He started to always give me a big hug and a kiss on the cheek whenever he'd see me. What had I done to get his favor? I didn't know, but having it was more special than I can adequately explain. His approval and love for me meant the world to me! I loved talking to him and getting to know him better! I seriously loved this man!!!

My grandpa was a chief fireman, a true guys guy... he could fix just about anything! He always seemed so impressive to me. When I met my husband I was particularly excited for my grandpa to meet him. During their first conversation I could hear my grandpa full belly laughing, reminiscing about handyman jobs he had done in the past, with my then fiance. Here is a picture I captured when they had just started talking to each other.

My grandpa will be missed more than he knows. He passed away yesterday in the morning sitting in his chair with a faint smile on his face. The night before he'd been moving a fridge. I love him and wanted to dedicate this post to express that love I have for him. He was the only grandpa I had growing up. I know that my grandpa is now on the other side continuing the missionary effort! I love you grandpa, and I'm really going to miss your hugs!!!! God be with you till we meet again!

His funeral service will be held this weekend.
