Happiness, Our Choice

I have been thinking lately a lot about happiness and what it really means to 'be' happy. Happiness really is made in the 'now' and not in the 'then', be that the past or the future. In light of this, and the insights that my husband and I have been receiving on the subject, I would like to start writing this blog as a sort of 'Happiness Journal'. This will be a journal of the things that make us happy each day, from the ordinary to the extraordinary, because we are coming to realize to a greater extent each day that you normally do not find true joy in what is to come and many time we only remember the hardest and saddest moments in our past. This has shown us that everything that we 'choose' to be happy about is in the now and presently happening, so we want to record and remember all of these little and not-so-little things that bring us true happiness in our life and in our family. That way not only will we come to realize how amazing our life is and how much better it is than we already think, but we will also be able to best learn to appreciate the daily gifts and blessings from GOD and also remember the ones that have consistently happened in the days, months, and years previous.

Happiness is a gift that we accept from GOD and to be happy is a choice that we make for ourselves in every decision every day. In everything that we do or that happens to us we 'choose' to be happy.
 Our little happy moments today:

Me - I was able to watch the finale of the Bachelor with my husband. I have also discovered that my not so cute laughs makes our daughter giggle out loud (which she doesn't do too often).
Russell - He was able to do work on the yard this morning, which might not sound so fun but you have no idea how long he has been making plans for how he wants to landscape our yard. He also got to buy beads to make bracelets for our daughter.
Kylie - Mom feeds me whenever I want. Dad tossing me in the air. Getting to watch the Bachelor finale.
Family - We were able to just be together today and even run errands together. We have a new green smoothie we like, with protein powder (we finally splurged and got some).
